Dan Miller is co-founder of the Chicago Innovation Awards. Before that, he worked as the business editor for the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Daily News and helped launch Crain’s Chicago Business, serving as its editor for its first decade. He also served as chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission for four years 1994-98, and as publisher and executive vice president of The Heartland Institute from 1998 to 1999 and again from 2008 to 2010. Miller was inducted into the Chicago Journalism Hall of Fame in 2005, and was named Illinois Journalist of the Year by the Northern Illinois University faculty in 1981.

Chicago’s reputation on the world stage continues to grow because businesses are working hard to bring high-quality, innovative products and services to international markets. Seeing the continued success of past winners further strengthens our commitment to recognizing the brilliant minds that continue to seek to reach the next level.
