Reliefwatch provides that crucial monitoring of stock and tracking diseases by relying on basic mobile phones that clinics already possess. “If you can answer a phone, you can use our system,” Reliefwatch founder Daniel Yu advises. Relief organizations register their clinics and warehouses with Reliefwatch, which automates prescheduled phone calls to health workers. The calls instruct workers to punch in responses to prompts, such as “how many sterile bandages” and “how many new cases of dysentery.” Reliefwatch stores and analyzes the data, making it available to support staff.
