Chicago Furniture Bank

The mission of the Chicago Furniture Bank  is to provide dignity, stability and comfort to Chicagoans that face poverty by allowing clients to handpick an entire home’s worth of furniture. Providing furniture gives people the ability to take ownership and feel comfortable in their home, allowing them to focus on getting a job, pursuing an education, or addressing substance abuse issues. Since launching in July of 2018, the Chicago Furniture Bank has furnished over 6,000 homes for 15,000 clients and diverted over 5,500 tons of furniture from landfills. They have already become the second largest furniture bank in the country, fully furnishing 15 homes per day.
