Current Innovation
Launched by Current, H2NOW Chicago is a first of its kind approach to real-time water quality monitoring in an urban waterway. Leveraging leading edge sensing and analytic technologies, it measures water quality parameters and communicates them with the public in real-time. Three probes with embedded sensors collect data every fifteen minutes at three discrete locations along the Chicago River. H2NOW aims to grow public understanding about Chicago River water quality, providing a foundation for Chicago residents and visitors to be empowered as informed and engaged river users and stewards.
