Law Center for Better Housing

The Law Center for Better Housing (LCBH) created Rentervention to help renters understand and access their rights. Since 2019, Renny has responded to over 40,000 questions about requesting repairs, avoiding eviction, and applying for emergency rental assistance. Rentervention also helps renters create and send letters to their landlords. In 2021, over 3,000 renters used Rentervention to notify their landlords of a COVID-19-related loss of income, which protected them from eviction. Volunteers expand Rentervention’s impact. Renters who need more personalized services are connected with LCBH’s Help Desk, which has responded to nearly 10,000 inquiries.
