In the U.S., McDonald’s and it’s independent franchisees are investing approximately $6 billion to modernize more than 14,000 restaurants by 2022. The transformed restaurants feature modernized dining rooms and refreshed exterior designs; an enhanced customer experience with digital self-order kiosks; table service to provide customers an opportunity to relax while their food is being made; bright and easy-to-read menu boards; new designated parking spots for curbside pick-up through mobile order and pay, and McDelivery via Uber Eats and DoorDash. McDonald’s is always innovating, testing new technology in the restaurants, and evolving as our customers’ needs change. Additionally, Chicago is home to two one-of-a-kind McDonald’s restaurants at our global headquarters in the West Loop and our Chicago Flagship restaurant on Clark & Ontario. McDonald’s Global Headquarters restaurant offers a revolving global menu offering customers an opportunity to experience menu favorites from around the world. The Chicago Flagship restaurant showcases a modern and environmentally-friendly design.
