Tanvas
Tanvas is helping the world rediscover its sense of touch. Tanvas’ surface technology on a computer screen enables users to feel what they see on a touchscreen: the edges of keys, the snap of a toggle switch, the swipe of a turned page, the fur of a kitten, the direction and magnitude of impacts in a video game. Founded by two Northwestern University professors, Tanvas’ touchable technology is the screen itself, unlike existing competitors whose “haptic technology” apps are additional components to the screen. The Tanvas screen itself can be adopted into applications such as tablets, gaming devices and control switches in the interior of automobiles.
