ReMoa Tri®, the world’s first mosquito space spray based on a bacterium, introduces the first completely novel mode of action since 1972 in the U.S. to combat adult mosquitoes and the diseases they spread. Since its introduction, ReMoa Tri has treated over 2.6 million acres across key regions, protecting millions of people from mosquito-borne diseases. Specifically labeled for use against insecticide-resistant adult mosquito populations – such as Aedes aegypti (carrier of disease such as Zika and dengue) – ReMoa Tri addresses the critical global issues of rising resistance to traditional adulticides. Finally, in June 2024, ReMoa Tri received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval for aerial applications, adding to its existing ground-use approval just in time for the 2024 hurricane season, including Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This approval allows public health programs to deploy ReMoa Tri in rapid response situations, providing a long-awaited, effective tool for controlling resistant mosquito populations when it’s needed most.
